Sheep and its lamb was saved from drowning after they got stuck in thick mud.

The pair was completely immersed and covered with black mud in a dried-up pond.

Their rescue was captured on video and shows them being dragged out of the swamp and carried to a safe place.

Fortunately, Walker spotted the animal in a field near Manchester, greater Manchester, on Saturday morning.

The Royal society for the protection of animals inspector Anthony Joynes said they could die if they stayed longer.

Sheep and lamb were both completely covered in mud (the Royal society for the protection of animals)

He said, “When I first arrived, I tried to find out where the lamb and the sheep were as they were covered in mud.

“They could easily have died if they’d stayed much longer.”

Inspector wildlife managed to get them both (the Royal society for the protection of animals)

He added: “I was covered from head to toe in stinking mud after I smelled a rat as a pet myself and had to throw the uniform away.
