Training project to help long-term unemployed, refugees and people with disabilities to obtain work seen by some of the participants to work in companies such as Ryanair and Facebook.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe was on hand to present certificates to all who took part in the project AG Obair Le Chéile.

However, many participants were unable to attend, as they worked in their new work.

A project that helps early school leavers worked 40 people in the last 15 months, with 26 or now in work or further education.

A total of 17 are now working, including specialized companies, like Ryanair, auctioneers sherry Fitzgerald and Facebook.

Chrican Florin from Romania – who was not present at the ceremony in Croke Park, now working at Facebook, and previously worked in construction before coming to Ireland with very little English.

In a statement, he said that the program helped him identify his strengths and “gave me a great level of support, encouragement and confidence I need to be able to apply and be successful in his new position.”

Nine are in further education, including completion of professional degrees and training in dcu.

Mr. Donohoe praised the participants saying “you need to have great courage to take the often difficult steps to put the Foundation in place to go back to work or get an education, allowing them to be built a bright future”

The curriculum is administered by the National network for the rehabilitation training group (NLN) in Phibsboro – and with the support of investment banking of Morgan.

The majority of participants were transferred to the Department of social protection, the Irish Council for refugees, local employment services, progress, Dublin North-West region partnership and facial palsy.

AG Obair Le Chéile offers customized, one-to-one support to people who find it hard to obtain and retain employment in areas such as catering/hospitality, ICT and construction.

Participants held 60pc of their time at work developing the skills and experience they need to get and keep a job.

The team leader rehabilitation MO Flynn called it a “fantastic project” they were proud and thanked Morgana for their support.
