Irish taxi app lynk is looking to recruit as many as 250 taxi drivers in the greater Dublin area.

The move comes as it continues its expansion in the creation of fast delivery service.

It’s launching a new service, the link provides in the coming weeks.

250 jobs for people who have access to their own vehicle, valid insurance and driving license and smartphone.

“We were rapidly increasing our business and technology over the past few years and as such was seen a gap in the niche market of service delivery,” said CEO of link Noel ebbs.

“We will announce all the details surrounding this new service link when it will be released in the coming weeks, but first we want to recruit new drivers.”

Jobs momentum comes as hardware, meanwhile, is experiencing significant growth due to the recent good weather and sales in the capital.

The average volume of sales increased by 10pc in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year, according to the latest Index of hardware Association Ireland business.

The index shows that members high in Dublin saw the most significant jump in 19pc.

“Results for the second quarter are positive and we are pleased to see that overall our members were better first half compared to last year,” said Hai CEO Annemarie Harte.

“The growth in Dublin is still ahead of the rest of the country and this is a trend that we have seen since the beginning of the year.”
