Irish video game company keywords studios has acquired the Studio Gobo and electric Area (together, the “Gobo”), for a total amount of up to £26 million (€29 million).

Gobo provides gaming services for video game developers and publishers around the world from his Studio Gobo and electric area studios, based in the UK.

The initial cost is £10.5 million in cash and 254,529 new ordinary shares in the keywords that will be released on the anniversary of completion of the transaction, and then apply the rules of the market for another 12 months.

The remaining consideration of £11m paid in cash and stock, or all cash, at the discretion of queries, subject to the achievement of “significant growth” in Gobo profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization for the 12-month period after completion of the transaction.

In a statement today, the keywords said Gobo adds “significant experience and scale” to the demands of new and growing video game business development.

“We are pleased to welcome Studio Gobo and electric square to the demands of the family,” Andrew day, CEO of keywords, said.

“Due to the significant increase in our game development services both in scale and knowledge, these studios along with the recently acquired snow, the company sperasoft, d3t and GameSim to help you to place keywords, how to go to the game and the development of relations with partners and give us even greater visibility to the games in the pipeline, at the beginning of their development.”

Company gobo increased from £6.2 million for the year ended 30 September 2017, an estimated £11.6 million for the 12 months ending 31 July 2018. Underlying the Pro-forma profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization over the same 12 months, expected to be around £3.6 m

Founded in 2011, Gobo employs 170 engineers, programmers, artists, animators, game designers, quality control testers, and manufacturers.

Among the services that it offers are full of developing games for the franchise owner games, video operations, in which it develops, new features and downloadable Content packs to support continue to keep players excited and engaged, and porting services, in which the Gobo will be to adapt the game to run on a different platform.

For many years, Gobo worked on the best games of the franchise such as Disney infinity, Ubisoft for the honor, and Microsoft, the latest racing game in Miami.

All sellers are left with Gobo under the leadership of Tony Beckwith.
