As solopreneurs (actually this is true for most people in the business) it is really hard to find time in already busy schedule, adhere to the subsequent. The task of the next quickly and efficiently it sounds like one of the easiest tasks we can do.
However, if so many experienced and technically skilled business people and solopreneurs to deal with it, this may not be so easy to do, right? So how do you become a master after?
Why, after it is important
The early bird catches the worm
Everyone has a website, at least these days, and most people have a digital marketing or advertising strategy. It is a great investment for any business, whether huge sums that the world’s biggest brands are investing or smaller sums that entrepreneurs and solopreneurs invest. The investment is made almost only one thing to get potential customers or inquiries for Your business. The speed in which you follow is been shown to be important. The data presented several years ago at Heb. revealed those who had contact with potential customers within 1 hour after receipt of the request is almost 60 times more likely effectively to qualify the lead than those who waited 24 hours or longer.
The following can help build trust
It is not surprising that in our work we orientirueshsya on a lot of trust and how you can design and build it with others in a business context. To help us to identify and understand that trust, we use the trust equation from the book “the trusted Advisor” by David Maister et al. The equation States that Your confidence is determined by Your trust, combined with reliability, your sex, and it’s all undermined or divided into any time you are acting purely in their own interests independently. Simply put, your credibility is your experience and skills, and most people have it; intimacy is how well you understand the other person in the world, i.e. you take an active part in them? and your reliability is whether you are doing what you say you are going to do.
“So as soon as possible, you can start to show that you are someone reliable and that helps to breed confidence.”
In such shortest time that you can begin to show that you are a reliable person, and that helps to breed confidence.
So what habits you need to take to become a master later?
Set aside time to do it. This is important. To do something to become a habit, you must begin to schedule time to do it. If you want to be in good shape, You have to create this routine where, for example, you set your alarm early so you could go to the gym before you start your day. Get in the habit of after.
In various types of business and activities you are working, below are some practical examples of how to do it:
- Web leads: if you do not have on-duty response, ask a few automated messages, which, at least, to give the client a realistic idea about when you will contact them. If You are a business, of time, say 10 minutes every hour or every 2 hours to check requests and track their implementation.
- After the meeting: it’s simple, if you have 30 minutes scheduled meeting in your diary, spend 40 minutes. This allows you to open up your laptop in the office, hallway or in a nearby cafe, and the type and send a note.
- The post networking: I am sure that most of you attend various events, but you met everyone? If it’s an evening event, or do it when you get home, or if you are tired or drinks a bit too much of the event, scheduled in 10 to 20 minutes in your diary the next morning with no follow UPS. Send this link to LinkedIn offers individual attention. It really makes the experience much more valuable.
To do this quickly
This is very important. The longer you leave it, the less impact this note will be. After any meeting, our rule is a continuation / summary of the meeting, an email should be sent within 24 hours. I recently had a meeting with the MD of one of my clients at the end of the meeting, as soon as I got out of the car Park, my phone beeped, and follow-up note arrived in my Inbox. It will really help me to remember this meeting and I cared about my actions ahead of time, thanks to the note I received.
Make it meaningful follow-up
After every meeting or significant telephone call, we found that you have to send a note but she can’t just be “it was great catch-up” or “thanks for the coffee”. Ideally, this should be something that gets a response and continues to walk the talk.
One of the simplest and most effective tools I share with my clients what we call to confirm and clarify (COP) notes. In sending after meetings or after a subsequent challenge, the item in the main the area under discussion, with a number of steps, as agreed at the meeting that follows. However, the main highlight we give the starting note with something like: “the following is a summary of what we discussed and next steps. Please let me know if I misheard or misunderstood something, or if you have anything else to add?”
It just attracts the other person to participate and maintain a conversation, and it’s not only good manners, but it demonstrates your reliability.
How to follow when contact was lost on you
This is one of the things I get asked about a lot. You had a meeting, now you are waiting for the second meeting or feedback on your proposal, but heard nothing. What are you doing? First, don’t just ask for “catch-up” or send an email saying “just checking..”, then it is unlikely they will respond. Instead, don’t ask for meeting or even feedback, but to send them something that will be valuable to them. It could be a new contact that might be able to help them, the report or article from a third party that you think will be interesting or useful for them and their business.
If you get it right, it will be really valuable to them, and so it is not about your product or service, it will not be treated as a sales pitch. This will actually help you to build rapport, and therefore, they are more likely to come back and ask for a meeting. Sometimes it takes a couple of articles for 2 or 3 months, but it’s much better and more valuable way to move to the next stage.
So there you have it. If you put into practice the four steps above, and create the habit, you are on your way to be a “master of After” and people will begin to see You as someone they can rely on.
Now is a great trait to be known.
