Private equity firm H2 equity partners has announced plans to merge the two Irish-related businesses in which he invested.

The company plans to create “a new market-leading group in the field of health and science of marketing.”

He plans to combine Aquilant, which it recently acquired from an Irish group UDG healthcare – medical 21, a cork-based company, in which he took a 49.9 PC stake.

Both companies are distributors of medical products. H2, which has also invested in Tyrone components on the basis of BA, said that the plan is implemented in partnership with the other partners in healthcare 21.

“The combined company will have a turnover in excess of €150 million and employ 450 people across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Austria,” H2 partners, said in a statement yesterday.

“The businesses are complementary and the combined Group offers an extensive range of products in many exciting therapeutic areas. In addition, infrastructure and human capacity combined group will ensure that both companies can focus on their current plans and to continue to deliver world-class solutions for its customers and suppliers,” the company added.

“Health 21, Aquilant and H2 equity partners expected to accelerate growth of the combined group, how are we going to become Europe’s largest and best-in-class provider of outsourced sales, marketing and service solutions to new groups of suppliers and customers”. H2 were advised to purchase Aquilant by the European division and xms capital partners, headed by Conor Barry.
