A record number of passengers travelling to Dublin airport contributed profit before tax for catering gate gourmet last year, 57pc soaring to €1.384 M.

Last year, 29.6 million passengers passed through Dublin airport, which is due to the receipt at gate gourmet Ireland increased by 12 PCs from €18.4 million € 20.59 m.

The Directors ‘ report States that “the company in 2017, providing a profit before tax of €1.38 m. this was mainly due to increased volumes and new customers.”

The firm is engaged mainly in the production of food and in-flight catering hall in Dublin airport.

The Directors ‘ report says: “efforts continue to optimize the performance of the business.”

The report States: “We are constantly looking for new opportunities and the Directors hope to further expand our business in the foreseeable future and we expect to maintain profitability in the coming year”.

Figures show operating profit of the company increased by 60pc, going from €794,650 € 1.273 m.

The balance sheet shows that the accumulated profit of the company increased from €1.8 m to € 3M. Shareholders ‘ funds increased from €6.3 million euros in the previous year of 7.5 m and cash of the company decreased sharply, going from €8,817 € 694,316.

The number of people employed in the company last year increased from 105 to 115 from 89 in manufacturing, 19 in administration and eight in management.

Profit taking into account non-cash expenses depreciation €97,995. The figures show that the value of the company’s sales last year rose from £ 11.37 m to €11.62 m with administrative expenses increasing from €6.24 m from €7.69 m.
