    The Minister of agriculture, food and the marine, Michael creed, has confirmed the introduction of some temporary adjustments to the scheme of the voice this year in connection with the current feed shortage.

The Minister of agriculture, food and the marine, Michael creed, has confirmed the introduction of some temporary adjustments to the scheme of the voice this year in connection with the current feed shortage.

Measures are introduced starting from tomorrow, Saturday 1 September.

Some flexibility in response to this summer weather difficulties and requires changes in the specifications for the two the voice of action for participants, by action. Two changes are specifically intended to add to the stocks of winter feed for Irish farmers:

  • Low Input permanent pasture: amendment to the specifications by 2018 to provide for the application of low input permanent Pasture areas for the production of silage/hay in the period from 1 September 2018 until December 1, 2018. There are 37,800 participants a voice from LIPP of action covering an area of over 269,000 hectares.
  • Environmental Management of Fallow lands: in 2018 from adopts will be permitted as basis for 2018 in the period from 1 September 2018 (after breeding season) until 1 December 2018.

Creed, the Minister commented: “the flexibility have the potential to add to the amounts of winter fodder gathered more than 260 000 ha in fodder. I would like to thank Commissioner Phil Hogan on his early intervention and assistance in the development of my proposals on this issue”
