China’s Liaoning province will increase inspections of pig farms and markets and greater control over hog transport, after the first case of the African nation of swine fever there, the local media, Liaoning daily reported on Monday.

With the outbreak of African swine fever poses a serious threat to the swine industry in the province and in the country as a whole, and should be completely eradicated, an official from the provincial health Bureau and animal husbandry Liaoning said, in accordance with Liaoning province.

The provincial government asked the local authorities to run emergency inspections in all pig farms, pigs at markets, slaughterhouses and harmless sites in the province, and to report any deaths of pigs due to unknown reasons, slaughtered pigs found with splenomegaly spleen or bleeding, and immune failure in pigs after administration of swine fever vaccine, the paper reported, citing the health of animals Bureau.
