Expressions of interest from developers to build up to 1,200 homes in the Northern suburbs of Dublin on the Donabate Fingal County Council.

The plan will significantly increase the population of the rapidly growing city.

It could also put more pressure on the already creaking infrastructure in the capital and its surroundings.

The planned new homes that will include a mix of houses and apartments, will be located on land at Ballymastone in the seaside town. But the Council does not intend to hold public consultations in respect of the project.

That is despite the fact that conducting consultations in connection with the development of the master plan a large parcel of land in Balbriggan, North of Donabate, where he also plans to build a significant number of new homes.

That angered some residents of Donabate.

“We call on Fingal County Council to undertake full public consultation community plans, as is happening in Balbriggan,” – said the press Secretary Donabate, Portrain of the Public Council.

“Fingal County Council is not planning a public consultation on Ballymastone land in donabate, which is inconsistent and unfair.

“People on the Peninsula of Donabate, which is chronically short of infrastructure, deserve to be consulted on such a major house-building plan”.

Fingal County Council insisted people will be able to make observations in respect of construction on the site through the statutory planning process. It is assumed that half of the homes in Ballymastone lands will be for private sale, 30pcs for social housing, and 20pcs of affordable housing.

The Council of the EU expects that the land should be ready for construction next year after the completion of the Donabate distributor road. This project is €14m are designed to open lands around the city for development.

Donabate has become an important focus of developers due to its relative proximity to Dublin city centre. Among developers involved in the project is former billionaire property tycoon Bernard McNamara.

The Fingal County Council has embarked on a market sounding exercise for the planned development on its lands in Donabate.

“This market sounding is carried out with the aim of obtaining feedback from the market in order to assist the FCC to determine various aspects of the project before the start of the procurement process,” he told prospective builders.

“We are firmly focused on increasing the supply of housing in the “Black eye” and understand that we must cooperate with the private sector to ensure that we produce the right mix of housing on our land,” says Ann Marie Farrelly, Director of planning and strategic infrastructure Fingal County Council.

The Council stated that there are now 127 Private sites in Fingal with permission to deliver 17,733 homes. The Council has set a target to ensure 1,637 social housing in 2018 in the framework of the program of recovery Ireland is the second largest target delivery in the country. He has more than 200 acres of their land designated for housing construction and create the office called Talamh project on the development of coordination.
