This week, Adrian Weckler gets two ambitious, successful young entrepreneurs who have one thing in common: they came to Dublin for the promise of its it industry.

What do they find? Dublin real technology capital, which they heard? Can you make it big here? What about those who say that Dublin is just a glorified large center outsourcing for multinational corporations?

American Austin Spivey (head of operations for the wia technologies) and Sergey Lyubka (co-founder and technical Director Cesanta) to give an objective assessment of what is good and bad about Dublin.

Not surprisingly, housing is perceived as a nightmare.

“I found it harder to get an apartment here than in San Francisco,” says Spivey. “I would say that it is very difficult.”

On the other hand, the quality of the people in Dublin and a number of other companies performing at a high level is a big draw, say Spivey and Platanthera.

“Dublin is the correct technology capital,” says Lyuba. “Most of our market is us so we could find anywhere, except in Dublin, where we want to be.”
