The couple decided to cast their luxurious two-storey mansion worth more than £5.25 (€5.8) million after failing to sell it for nine months.

Dancers “house on the hill” is a Georgian grade II category, which covers more than 7,500 square feet of land inside the M25 on the outskirts of North London.

It has six bedrooms and bathrooms, two Lounges, cinema, gym, wine room, plus four hectares of land, including a half acre lake stocked with over 2,000 fish.

Current owners Nigel and Melanie Walsh said complex real estate market, quarter and month and stamp duty were the obstacles to achieving a sale, so after nine months I decided to take a creative approach.

Drawing from the hotel for £13.50 (€15) ticket once inspired by such contests, Miss Walsh, 65, said it was “a big old house in beautiful surroundings”.

“It’s time to move on, and it will be heartbreaking because it’s a part of me… it was fun, we had great fun”, she said at the press Association.

“There are only two of us now – 7500 square feet for two people – I mean, it’s funny, but it’s crazy, we just don’t fill it,” she said.

“I just got the feeling that the house was in need of a new family, a new Chapter. It was a fantastic life.”

The mother of three children said that when they bought the house in November 1992, he was in a “derelict state” and require a lot of work before they moved in July 1993.

Just 14 miles (22.5 km) from Central London, it is close to the major airports of the capital and was recently renovated.

MS Walsh said the property appeared in the television show ChuckleVision and adaptation 1999 “great expectations” was filmed there.

In its former life, it was also used as the school and the army as camp 33 to house Italian prisoners of war in the territory.

Couples who have been married for 42 years, also hosts birthday parties, family gatherings and even a wedding of the son in the property.

Asked whom she would like to win the competition, Ms. Walsh said, “someone who will love it as much as we do.

“People who buy tickets and entering, I hope, and I really mean it sincerely that they are looking forward to the victory of dancers hill house.

“I would like to see him in a family who will cherish her and have as much fun as we do, and I hope we will succeed.”

For participation in the contest must answer the question, and then buy a ticket.

The drawing will be conducted randomly, with the closing date of the competition on December 16 of this year, or sooner, if all 600,000 tickets sold.
